The Pet Rider Review

Okay so today we bring to you guys a review for a product that Mommy has recently bought for us to use or more or less her to try out. The product is The Pet Rider , seat cover for your car. Most of you have probably seen it on TV seeing how that is how we saw it ourselves. Recently Mom bought a new to her car, and wanted to cover the seats to protect against our hair, nails and slobber. So she went to Wal-Mart and purchased The Pet Rider it was $10 and claims to be waterproof, easy to install and fits all vehicles.

We will give it that it is fairly easy to install. That part of the ad did not lie, you open the box and unfold it then you clip it around the head rests in the backseat. That is fairly simple if you ask us, Mom got it installed in less then a minute. Now she got it installed but, it didn't fit our vehicle. It is to small for our Jeep Grand Cherokee's backseat. It has slots for you to pull your seat belts through and unfortunately because, it is to small you cannot fit the seat belts through the slots. So if you are one of those people who buckle up your pet, you might want to pass on this cover. Just like if you think "Hey I can just keep it setup at all times and people can just sit on the cover." You too can think again because, your passengers will not be able to buckle up and remember folks it is the law. So since the seat belt slots didn't work for our vehicle and the cover was to small Mom just centered it in the seat that way the seat is mostly covered. Meaning most of our hair ended up on the cover and not the seats but, due to it not fitting all vehicles some hair did sneak onto the new seats. Now it has a zipper to protect your center column and it's a nice thought but, the zipper is quite cheap and doesn't seem to want to work. That was okay with us because, we don't need it to go around our center column thankfully. So for those of you who want or need that feature, please avoid this seat cover because, you will be disappointed by that.

Now for the waterproof feature of the cover. They weren't lying about, this seat cover can withstand water. So if you have a dog that loves water and you just towel it dry after a swim and then load up to go home or wherever you will, have no fear about your seats getting wet. We were impressed with that because, I (Missy) love the water and let's face it sometimes you just want to be toweled off and taken home to sleep. It also helps protect your seats against muddy paws. Mind you it isn't perfect because, again it doesn't fit all vehicles so if it doesn't cover your backseat completely you will have some seat wetness and some muddy paws on the seat itself.

Now this cover says it is great for beds and couches. Now we tilted our heads at that and thought the color isn't desirable, it isn't very large so it won't cover most love seats and definitely won't cover any bed that we have slept on. Heck it probably won't even cover a twin bed. So we don't know why they mention that feature for the cover because, it is very lack luster and will leave you disappointed.

All in all for $10 the cover is worth it. You get what you pay for with it that is for sure. It doesn't fit all vehicles. If you don't have a compact car or mid-sized sedan it probably won't fit your backseat. It is waterproof so that is a plus and that alone kinda makes it worth it in the end.
